About Mytutor Video

Mytutor Video is a free online video streaming service that allows anyone to view and share videos that have been uploaded by our members.

Signing Up

1. Once you've created your username in our Sign Up page, we'll send a confirmation email to the address you entered.
2. Click the "Confirm your email address" link within that email. You can also copy and paste the link provided into your browser if you prefer.
3. That's it! You'll be directed to a confirmation page and you can immediately begin exploring the site!

Upload a video

Once you've finished editing your video, made sure that it's less than 10 minutes, smaller than 50 MB and in an acceptable format, you're ready to upload it.

1. Click "Upload Videos" in the upper right-hand corner of any Mytutor-video page.
2. Enter as much information about your video as possible, including Title, Description, Tags, Language and Category. The more information you include, the easier it is for users to find your video!
3. Determine if you want your video set to Public or Private.
4. Click the "Upload a Video" button.
5. In the next window, click the "Browse" button to browse for the video file. Select the file you want to upload.
6. Click the "Upload Video" button.

Glossary

Account - You can create a free account at http://www.mytutor-video.com/index.php

Category - A video can belong to one of several topic areas, known as categories.

Comment - A text response to a video.

Favourite - From a watch page you can add a video you like to your list of favourites. Other users can browse your favourites.

Featured Video (home page) - These videos are selected by the editors. They will appear on the pages under the Categories tab.

Flash - The Flash Player from Adobe Systems is a plugin for your web browser. YouTube uses it to play videos.

Friends / Friend Invitations - You can invite other users to be your friends. This allows you to share private videos with each other. You can send invitations to friends.

Group - Groups allow users to share videos and have discussions on a common theme. They can be found under the community tab.

Private Message - Mytutor Video has a system for messaging, like email. You can read your messages from your account page. You send a message to a user from that user's page.

Rating - You can rate videos by clicking the stars. More red is better.

Search - There is a search box at the top of every page. Accepts usernames, video titles, descriptions, tags...

Tags - Tags are an associative heuristic for interest. You can subscribe to a tag to see new videos with that tag as they are added to the site.
